Every human being experiences changes in moods, and a wise king once had engraved on his ring the four most important words in the world: This too will pass. But in the middle of a depression, the feeling is that this experience is endless.
The melancholic temperament — like Eeyore in Winnie the Pooh — sees problems readily. That temperament has been related to the ‘black bile’ of ancient Greek wisdom.
Each person carries a constitution, an Achilles heel of vulnerability, that is often the place where illnesses surface. A liver constitution individual may experience a black mood and paralysis of the will. A person with kidney constitution might have an agitated depression that is mixed with anxiety. Knowing a person’s constitution, a remedy supporting the appropriate organ can be chosen with good result.
A universal support is homeopathic gold (Aurum). Gold is the metal of the sun, the center of the solar system, and the metal of the human heart. Gold does not polarize into positive and negative, so it does not conduct electricity, but stays neutral and centered. When we need to find our center in a storm, gold (Aurum) is the remedy from nature that assists this upliftment and strength of self.
The scatter and speed and materialism of modern life work against the core of human nature, which thrives on meaning and service and relatedness. Spiritual connections, service to others, and artistic activity in life allow the core human make-up to be expressed.Print This Post

Therapeutic baths with high quality etheric oils bring relaxation and upliftment, and sometimes needed sleep. Lavender oil is relaxing, Rose oil harmonizing, and Prunus oil rejuvenating. These are preferred in olive oil (not peanut oil) to avoid allergic reactions, and are commonly 5% or 10%. See Baths – oil dispersion.

A person with depression may have suicidal tendencies that no one has ever directly asked about. In the community, this willingness to say: What is wrong? How bad is it? can be lifesaving. It is a wise choice to involve professionals, a crisis center, or even 911, if the person is seriously depressed and not willing to get help.
