There should only be a thin layer of cloth between the ginger and the hot water bottle.

Snugly wrap the abdominal wrap around the front and tuck the ends under the person.

Pull down shirt and wrap body in wool blanket including shoulders and top of head.

Allow person to rest for about one hour.  May sleep on compress.  No need for wiping off grains of ginger when removing compress.

May be repeated in four hours if needed.

CAUTIONS

Care for any illness may require additional treatments. Treatment should be supervised by a fully trained healthcare provider.
Do not overheat the water for the hot water bottle, or overfill the bottle. If you are applying the hot water bottle directly to the person’s body use a hot water bottle cover. (It is easy to make one from an old sweater)

Compresses should be done by an adult with full focus on the activity.
